Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Said Benrahma, according to The Guardian. West Ham are willing to listen to offers for the attacking midfielder and the Reds are keen. Benrahma signed for the Hammers in 2020. He initially joined on loan but then made his move permanent due to a mandatory clause within the deal with Brentford. The 26-year-old could now be offloaded by David Moyes. Last season, he enjoyed a fruitful campaign, scoring 11 goals and claiming six assists from 47 outings. He typically operated as a left-winger, although he can play through the middle as a number 10 or as a centre-forward. Moyes has utilised him in all three positions. Forest’s need for new attacking players was evident yesterday. The Reds slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle and failed to register a single shot on target. Benrahma would bolster Forest’s options considerably. They’re desperately trying to add to their squad and he would represent an upgrade on some of the current crop. The 26-year-old is likely to be a wanted man. He won’t cost a fortune though and West Ham are keen to get him off the books this summer. Forest interested in Benrahma and it’s a deal they should do This would be a very solid piece of business indeed. Benrahma is proven in the Premier League and crucially he’s played alongside Jesse Lingard before at West Ham. The player has drawn praise from Joe Cole previously. He knows a good forward when he sees one and last season he called the player ‘unplayable’ following a performance against Norwich. If a deal can be struck between the clubs, Forest would bolster their ranks with a proven top-flight player. He earns £58,000-a-week and that wouldn’t provide a problem for Forest. Yesterday highlighted a serious need for new attackers and as a result, Forest should try and get this deal over the line. Forest need new players in the final third and Benrahma can play. His versatility would make him ideal for Steve Cooper. The head coach likes to change his systems in-game and having versatile players definitely helps. Forest should be all over this deal and if West Ham are willing to let him leave, the club has to act and get him to the City Ground.
